Sicily to Calabria
Our journey began in the charming coastal town of Carini, Sicily. As we boarded the train, we were treated to panoramic views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the rugged Sicilian coastline. The train journey to Palermo was a scenic delight, passing through vineyards, olive groves, and quaint villages.
From Palermo, we continued our journey by train to Messina, the gateway to Calabria. The train ride to Messina offered breathtaking views of the Straits of Messina, separating Sicily from the Italian mainland. As we approached Messina, we were captivated by the city’s unique blend of Greek, Arab, and Norman influences.
We embarked on a ferry from Messina to Lamezia Terme, Calabria. The journey was a relaxing interlude, allowing us to soak up the sun and enjoy the sea breeze. As we approached the Calabrian coast, we were greeted by stunning landscapes of rugged mountains, crystal-clear waters, and picturesque villages.
Finally, we arrived in Sarrotino, Calabria where Franco picks us up at the train station. We then enjoy a wonderful visit with our dear family. Our Sicilian and Calabrian adventures ended, leaving us unforgettable memories of stunning landscapes, delicious food, and warm hospitality.
