Why Sicily Is The Best Place To Live
As a boy, I made great memories at the Baglio di Carini and Sicily is amazing.
Playing in the Courtyard with Cousins
I used to play in the courtyard with my cousins. My Zio Gliachino and Zia Pippina lived there, and we spent a lot of time during the hot summers. My cousins still own the property today.
Summer Visits to Nonno and Nonna’s House
My Nonno Rosario and Nonna Gaetana had a house very close to the Balgio di Carini, and we would stay with them for the entire summer.
Swimming and Eating Sea Urchins
I remember swimming and looking for sea urchins. We’d open them, squeeze lemon juice, and eat them raw. Talk about delicious!
Family Vacation to Sicily (1987)
In 1987, our family flew to Sicily for a vacation, and we had a wonderful time. We rode the ferry from Messina to Calabria to visit my sister Stella and her family.
Over the years, we have gone back several times, and it was always hard to leave.
Love for Sicily and Its People
I have great memories and love to be in Sicily, but the BEST part is the people.
I just love that I can spend time with family and friends.
Carini holds a really special place in my heart, and will always be my home.
